Assassin's Creed: Revelations is a 2011 historical fiction action-adventure open world video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal. It is a direct sequel and follow-up to 2010's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Revelations is the fourth main installment of the series.

The main story follows the Assassin Ezio's journey to unlock the secret of Altaïr's vault in Masyaf using disc-like artifacts containing Altaïr's memories. Intersecting with these historical events are the modern day activities of Desmond, who relives Ezio's memories to find a way to fight against the Assassins' enemies, the Templars, and to prevent the 2012 apocalypse.

The multiplayer mode was co-developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Annecy and Bucharest and it builds on previous AC multiplayer to create a more diverse and balanced experience.

Revelations shipped with 6 game modes, the last three being new to the series.


Manhunt is a Team Based assassination game. Each player on a team will look like the same character, which will be chosen at the beginning of the match. One team Targets the other team for assassination. The other team must hide among the crowd and avoid being killed as much as possible. The Targeted team can Stun the Pursuers if they are close by. If they stun them three times, they must be revived by a teammate or die and respawn. Hiding next to your team will boost your score. After the first round, teams switch sides. The hunters become the prey.


Two VIPs will be spawned on the map. One team is assigned to protect the VIPs at all costs, the other team will be sent to assassinate the VIPs. The defending team will score more points the longer their VIPs stay alive as they move about the map to specific locations.

Chest Capture

The game will spawn three chests around the map that are to be captured by the offensive team. The team placed on the defensive must find, identify and kill the other team in order stop their chests from falling into enemy hands. If all three chests are captured, the game will spawn a new set in different locations.


Corruption is played in a series of three rounds, whomever scores highest total score wins the game. There are two types of objectives in Corruption, each specific to the roles (Corrupted and Uncorrupted) assigned before the start of the round. The job of all Corrupted players is to find and infect the Uncorrupted players before the end of the round. For the Uncorrupted it is to hide and avoid the Corrupted until the timer runs out.

Points are awarded to the Corrupted for creative kills, whilst Uncorrupted players get points for the length of time they are corrupted and gain more points as the number of Uncorrupted players decreases as well as the proximity to Corrupted players.

Steal the Artifact

An Artifact will be spawned in a random location on the map. The first person to take it will begin to earn points for having it on his/her person. Pursuers will then be assigned to kill and then steal the artifact from him/her. The Templar with the highest score will win the game.

Artifact Assault

The map is separated into two sections, your team's section and the enemy team's section. There will be one artifact at each team's base. Once you step foot inside the enemy's section, you will become a Target instead of a Pursuer. Walk over the Artifact to steal it and take it back to your base to score a point.
